Bring your cultural knowledge and learning expertise to a role with purpose
Join our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce at Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), where we are committed to respecting and valuing your cultural knowledge, experience and leadership.

Our Aboriginal Employment and Retention Strategy guides our commitment to strengthening cultural safety, supporting First Nations employees and creating opportunities to grow your career across CALHN.

About the role
Join CALHN as our Aboriginal Cultural Consultant (Learning and Development) and help strengthen cultural capability across our diverse workforce.

In this identified role, you’ll design, coordinate and deliver learning programs that strengthen understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and ways of knowing, being and doing. Your work will support learning across professions, strengthen culturally responsive practices and contribute to safer, more respectful workplaces.

You’ll work closely with First Nations employees, CALHN leaders, the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Committee and internal and external stakeholders. Through training, program development and expert advice, you’ll support meaningful learning that respects cultural protocols and the authority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over their cultural knowledge.

This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise, influence positive change and support the development and retention of CALHN’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce.

About You
We’re looking for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional with experience in learning and development and a commitment to strengthening cultural safety.

You’ll bring a collaborative approach, build trusted relationships and support others to develop their understanding of Australian First Nations’ peoples and cultures.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Experience in designing and delivering impactful cultural learning programs that strengthen cultural capability and support culturally safe practice.
  • The ability to build respectful relationships with Australian First Nations’ peoples and communities, employees and senior leaders.
  • Strong communication, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver culturally respectful initiatives.
  • An understanding of the strengths, diversity and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, alongside the barriers to equity in employment and healthcare.

Special Conditions
This is an identified position under the special measure recruitment: In accordance with Sections 30 (1) and 103 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, only applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent may apply.
